Solar R conservatory blinds are manufactured from a solar efficient blind fabric. Which enables your conservatory to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter? Other less efficient fabrics allow heat to be directly transmitted, causing heat to build up quickly. And therefore makes the conservatory uncomfortable.

With solar R conservatory blinds the mirror finished aluminium laminate directly reflects the suns hot rays away from your conservatory, and reflects the heat back into your conservatory from your conservatory heaters in the winter or cool days, so you get the best of both worlds.

The heat which passes through your conservatory roof 85% is directly reflected away from your conservatory. The remaining 15% is absorbed by the blind, and then passed to the conservatory structure which acts as a heat sink. This is then released as temperatures drop through the evening. A small residue of heat will enter the conservatory indirectly, as the fabric becomes warm.

What is Solar R?

Solar R fabric is a laminated fabric consisting of three layers:

The first layer is a hard-wearing polyester face fabric...	The second layer is aluminium foil bonded onto the polyester...	Finally, a polyester film is added to protect the aluminium.

For the best heat control, conservatory blinds should be closed before the conservatory warms up. As no blind can be 100% thermally efficient, a little ventilation will prevent a big rise in air temperature and ensure perfect results.

It can be cut to even the most complicated shapes, even narrow windows with awkward angles and corners, because Solar R fabric is not woven or laminated. This also means Solar R conservatory blinds won't fray or curl at the edges, unlike many of the blinds available in the market. It is stitched (not taped) around the roller so that the blind extends to fit each window and roof panel perfectly every time.
